How Long Do You "Push" Santa?

I know that a lot of times kids find out about Santa from schoolmates... but if it didn't happen that way, is there an age you decided to "come clean" to the kids?

If you haven't done that yet, do you have an age in mind to have that talk? Or do you think it will all come naturally without any intervention?

What do you mean there isn't a Santa!?!?!

Honestly though, I will let him figure it out. One of the podcast I listen to has a great way of dealing with questions from kids. When asked a question about Santa or anything else similar, she responds with "what do you think the answer is. It gives her a chance to get A) the reason for the question, B) the kids thoughs about the answer and C) an opportunity to come up with a good answer.

Now, Megan, I was extra sure not to say that. I didn't say it because I *do* believe in Santa!

The thoughts on that podcast are very clever... sounds like a good way to handle the questions.

I recently read a status from a Facebook friend whose daughter stopped believing in Santa this year. She (the mom) said she cried when her daughter said that, just like her own mom did when she stopped believing. Kind of like a loss of a certain innocence, I guess.
